Make Everyone Green With Envy

Add Accents in Shades of Green to your Coastal Home

House by the Shore wants to celebrate bright and dark green accents in honor of spring. Pantone Spring 2015 has 3 shades of green that are perfect for spring coastal homes but also year-round for year round living.  Because green is the color of nature and it has a strong emotional tie to safety, it is a good color to use in homes.

You can add fresh bright accents in Lucite green, dark green accents in Treetop, or more neutral colored green accents in Woodbine.

Lucite Green is a bright and fresh airy color similar to mint. It’s a relaxing and soothing color that can add a punch of color to any room. Pair it with corals, blues, or silver/grays for a coastal feel.

Treetop green is a dark natural green just like the leaves on a palm tree. Use treetop as a background color for accent colors such as neutrals, browns, dusky blues, and grays.

Woodbine is the shade of green to act as a neutral and add a tropical edge to any Coastal home. Colors such as lavender, silvers, browns, blues, and almost anything work with this natural neutral color of yellow-green.

Spring Decorating Ideas

Bring the freshness of Spring into your décor!

The cold dreary days of winter are beginning to fade away and spring is in the air. Spring cleaning can be daunting but House by the Shore wants to share some spring décor ideas to help quickly freshen up your home.

Spring means bright colors, fresh flowers, natural accents, greenery, Easter, and usually rain. Spring itself gives us all the inspiration one may need for decorating their home. Use some of these tips to help add a splash of color, freshness, or natural accents to your décor.

Watercolor floral patterns for accents are an upcoming trend for
2015. They can be bright but are typically more pastel in color. These patterns are good for pillows, curtains, or accent rugs to add a punch of color and the flowers of spring to your living room.

Re-vamp your bedroom by adding fresh new touches. Give your headboard a new look by wrapping a yard of fabric in the center. Try a floral, bright, or gingham pattern. You can also buy card stock in different patterns and frame them over the bed to add a new touch of interest.

Spring is the perfect time to add fresh natural greenery to your home. It adds color and nature without being too difficult to maintain. Try putting the greenery in antique pitchers, galvanized metal buckets, or white porcelain style milk buckets for a unique touch.

Add spring to your living, bed, or sun room by using a soft color palette of green and blue. You can re-do the whole room with new bedding, curtains, or rugs. Also, you can do small budget friendly touches with blankets, candles, pictures, and small accents.

One of the easiest ways to add spring décor is by setting the table.
Use natural flowers like tulips or daisies with baby’s breath or wheatgrass in unique-natural style vase for a centerpiece. Add accents with bird figurines, bunnies, or butterflies. You can also buy spring themed plate settings or pottery for an extra touch.

Adding spring to your living spaces can be quiet easy. Just use pastel or bright color accents, natural elements, and mix textiles.  We’re always amazed how much a room is transformed just by adding a new lamp or pillows to the sofa.   These fun trends just take it to the next level. Happy Spring!
